Hello bloggers, Happy Mother’s Day to you all!  BIG THINGS have been happening for me lately.  I’ve been getting involved in a bunch of great projects and meeting TONS of awesome people, both friendly and professionally.  Most recently, I have been working on the 2012 Pell Awards that take place in Providence, RI.  The awards honor both national and local excellence in the arts and this year they will be honoring actress Viola Davis, Elaine Foster Perry, Ruth J. Simmons, and J.L. “Lynn” Singleton.

Local Rhode Island event planner, John Orton of John Orton Events, is handling the planning and design of the event and I have had the privilege of helping!  Not only have I been able to create the layout of the space at the Pell-Chafee Performance Center, but I have also been helping select and organize rentals and corresponding with vendor and venue contacts.  Check out the blurb below to get an idea of what the event is all about and when/where it is taking place.  I will have more updates as they become available – but to preserve the element of surprise, no serious details will be disclosed until after the awards!
